*EDIT* Lol the title said May for a whole month
Well maybe games are about to start coming out again soon. Possibly. Despite being able to get a few reviews out, it’s been kinda quiet in the last 2 months. Also I still haven’t reviewed Gotta Protectors, I should do that. And I have another review coming up probably tomorrow. Yay.
Well June LOOKS like a bigger month than May, but it’s still kinda lacking on big badass releases. Here I’m highlighting: 19 Multiplats, 3 Switch games and 2 PC things (one of which is just a possibly-leaked date). As far as what I’m getting… probably 5 games, and 1 (or 2) DLCs.
Disclaimer: I only list games that I think are worth mentioning. This includes games I’m personally interested in, games that will likely be popular, highly advertised games, small interesting ones I may notice, and such. Not just games I care about myself, I highlight as much as I think makes sense. And of course, I can’t see the future, so I may be missing games and I may be listing games that may get delayed.
MULTIPLATFORM GAMES
Silt 06/01 (Switch, PC, PS4, PS5)
I’m not interested in this one but it doesn’t look bad. You play as a diver who is able to possess sea creatures, and you use those to solve environmental puzzles. It also looks pretty good visually with a nice pencil drawing, dark style.
Card Shark 06/02 (Switch, PC)
This is a game where you help someone else cheat at gambling by giving him signs of what cards other players have… I know people are excited for this, but I’ve looked at a bunch of gameplay and I don’t get it.
Souldiers 06/02 (Switch, PC, PS4, Xbone, PS5, Xbox X/S)
Had this on last month’s list, I guess it got delayed, yay. It does look good though. It’s another one of these indie metroidvanias, I enjoy trying these out.
Diablo Immortal 06/02 (PC, Mobile)
If you want a version of Diablo that sucks even more than Diablo 3 sucks… there you go. I played the beta for this, it wasn’t good, felt like the progression was gonna get very ass, very fast, and it has that “pay to progress because normal progress is slow” garbage phone games tend to have… and of course the pricing is ridiculous.
See, Blizzard, the problem with the game isn’t that we didn’t have phones. It’s that phone games are garbage 99.999999% of the time. And this one is not in the 0.000001%.

Wonder Boy Collection 06/03 (Switch, PS4)
They’re really pushing this series in the last few years. There’s been several Wonder Boy remasters and remakes for many of the games recently (including a really nice hand-drawn remaster of Dragon’s Trap and a version of Monster World 4 with 3D graphics), plus one new game in the series, Monster Boy, which was pretty good. This is a collection of the old versions of the games: Wonder Boy (arcade), Wonder Boy in Monster Land (arcade), Wonder Boy in Monster World (genesis) and Monster World IV (genesis).
As a really weird, anti-consumer note though, the Strictly Limited Games physical version of the game has 21 versions of games in the series… I don’t know why. Just release the same thing for everyone? If you get the digital version, or the physical version from anywhere else, it’s just the 4 games I listed. That’s absolute bullshit. The sooner companies like SLG, SRG and LRG die, the better.
Metal Max Xeno: Reborn 06/10 (Switch, PC, PS4)
This came out on PS4 before, though this is an improved version of that game. Seems there’s some differences gameplay-wise, I wouldn’t know what they are. I’m actually not familiar with the Metal Max series beyond… knowing it exists… Most of the series never made its way to the west, just Metal Saga on PS2 I think (and that went under my radar back in the day). Looking at videos for this, it looks like a vehicle combat RPG. Seems like it might be fun. I skipped it before but I might go for it this time.
Overlord: Escape from Nazarick 06/16 (Switch, PC)
This is a 2D Metroidvania based on the Overlord anime series, where you play as Clementine which is a… weird choice, though gameplay-wise it seems to open some cool movement options. Not really sure where it takes place chronologically in Overlord considering Clementine’s history. Either way, game looks fun.
Redout 2 06/16 (PC, Switch, PS4, Xbone, PS5, Xbox X/S)
Redout was this cool F-Zero/Wipeout-inspired racing game. I didn’t play much of it, but what I did play was fun. I kinda missed that Redout 2 was even gonna be a thing, but it still looks like good stuff.
Omori 06/17 (Switch, PS4)
This is a somewhat psychological horror-ish RPG with some obvious Earthbound influences, made by artist Omocat whom I only know about because of Hololive merch (that I have not bought, though some of it is pretty cool). I’ve seen a bit of this game (it’s out on PC already), looks pretty decent.
Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout 06/21 (Switch, PS5, Xbone)
I guess this is going free-to-play, alongside coming out for a few more platforms. I don’t know why. Is anyone even still playing this? Though I guess the Switch version was announced over a year ago and had a weird lack of news since.
Sanic Arigins 06/23 (Switch, PC, PS4, Xbone, PS5, Xbox X/S)
Not sure why this is a thing. This is Sonic 1, 2, 3&K and CD, with some minor remastering work going on. Why? And why is there DLC that’s just rip-off garbage? Oh boy pay to have ANIMATED CHARACTERS ON THE TITLE SCREEN! And MOVING THE CAMERA ON THE TITLE SCREEN! Why is this a thing? Is it so hard to just… release a game without stupid bullshit attached anymore?
You can for sure play classic Sonic already. At this price it’s extra not worth it.
Pocky & Rocky Reshrined 06/24 (Switch, PS4)
This is a new game in the Pocky & Rocky/Kiki Kaikai series. Yeah I’m hyped. Seems like it’s partly a reimagining of the first, but it’s not exactly the same game either, with it having many differences in gameplay and some new playable characters. Looks very good, this was some classic shit on SNES.
AI: The Somnium Files – Nirvana Initiative 06/24 (Switch, PC, PS4, Xbone)
I’ve heard good things about the first Somnium Files game, but I have not played it. So I can’t say much about the series, or about this game… but if you like these point-and-click puzzle adventure visual novel kinda games, I’m pretty sure this is the good shit.
Capcom Fighting Collection 06/24 (Switch, PC, PS4, Xbone)
Darkstalkers, Night Warriors, Vampire Savior, Vampire Hunter 2, Vampire Savior 2, Red Earth, Cyberbots, Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, Hyper Street Fighter 2 and Super Gem Fighter Minimix. All in one neat little package. Fun, I guess. I think this is the first time Red Earth is getting a console release, which is pretty cool.
DNF Duel 06/28 (PC, PS4, PS5)
This is looks like a pretty standard anime-style fighting game. I remember watching a few videos that talked about its intricacies and unique features and I don’t remember any of them… but it did look pretty fun.
Disgaea 6 Complete 06/28 (PC, PS4, PS5)
It’s probably the least good Disgaea (which means it’s still pretty decent), and it’s out on more platforms, with I guess some content that was DLC in the Switch version. Yay. Get Disgaea 5 Complete instead.
Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak 06/30 (Switch, PC)
I didn’t look too much into how much new content this DLC expansion brings to MHR, and I’m not sure yet that I’ll even get this, but it’s pretty exciting to get way more stuff in what is already a pretty content-rich game. Entirely new monsters. Monsters making a comeback from previous games. Master Rank which gives monsters new attacks. It also adds a few extra mechanics like skill swapping. Should be great stuff, I know the Iceborne expansion for World was huge.
Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course 06/30 (Switch, PC, PS4, Xbone)
It’s finally coming out! With how long this took to finally come out (delayed several times), I thought this might be a Silksong situation where they decided to make the DLC into a sequel… but nope. It’s just coming as DLC, a whole 5 years after the main game. Cool. I’ll probably get this at some point. Cuphead is good stuff.
Rabbids: Party of Legends 06/30 (Switch, PS4, Xbone)
It’s just party minigames with Rabbids. I dunno, this does nothing for me.
SWITCH RELEASES
Mario Strikers: Battle League 06/10
I remember playing one of the previous Mario Strikers games, I think the gamecube one. It was fun. It’s cool they’re finally making a new one, but I have doubts with modern Mario sport games. Like, Aces was great gameplay-wise, but was lacking in content and the free DLC updates were basically nothing. Golf was not good gameplay-wise, and the free DLC updates were basically nothing. I’m not getting this. If I had friends over all the time to play games, maybe I would.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 06/10
It’s that Demon Slayer arena fighter that didn’t look particularly noteworthy when it came out last year on PC and Playstation and Xbox. Doesn’t look any more noteworthy on Switch. Anime games need to stop with the “kinda meh arena fighter” thing.
Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes 06/24
I had lots of fun with Fire Emblem Warriors, actually more than Hyrule Warriors since it had some gameplay improvements… That were implemented in the Definitive Edition of Hyrule Warriors. So both are pretty good. This is just more Warriors, which I’m fine with from time to time. Last proper Warriors game I played was Age of Calamity, so I’m good to play another one at this point. And this has playable Bernadetta so I’m happy.
PC RELEASES
Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection 06/20
This is a rumored date, from Epic Games leaking it. Not sure if real but I’m going with it anyways… just to point out the fact that Uncharted sucks.
Deathsmiles I & II 06/23
It’s a collection of the two Deathsmiles games, it came out on other platforms some time ago. It’s Gothic Lolita side-scrolling shooter stuff that is pretty fun. Why not Deathsmiles III though? I don’t know why game devs nowadays seem to be content with just re-releasing old shit all the time. Yeah Deathsmiles is good, but Deathsmiles 2 came out 13 years ago. Why is there no 3 yet?
