Games coming out in March 2023

I’m not getting much out as far as posts recently. Somehow increasing my “games I didn’t review in 2023 post” without actually making full posts. I’m progressing through a few games. I’ll try to get some things out, there’s some games I’m playing and some games I want to play that game out in the last month-ish, but some of them are pretty long so I dunno. I’m gonna try. In the meantime, at least “games coming out soon” posts are pretty easy to do.

For March 2023 I’m highlighting: 14 multiplats, 3 Switch games and 3 PC games. It sounds like a good amount, but as far as big releases, this month is pretty quiet. There’s 2 games I’m getting. So I might be able to catch up a bit with all the other shit from february I didn’t get to and review yet.

So let’s go!

Disclaimer: I only list games that I think are worth mentioning. This includes games I’m personally interested in, games that will likely be popular, highly advertised games, some more niche stuff I may notice, and such. Not just games I care about myself, I highlight as much as I think makes sense. And of course, I can’t see the future, so I may be missing games and I may be listing games that may get delayed.

MULTIPLATFORM RELEASES

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty 03/03 (PC, PS4, Xbone, PS5, Xbox X/S)
Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty
I looked into this one just a little bit. Seems to be a fairly standard Souls-like. Seems pretty good. Reminds me a bit of Sekiro with a bigger focus on a parry system. I’m in no hurry to try this one, but it should be a good one.

Romancelvania 03/07 (PC, PS5, Xbox X/S)
Romancelvania
A dating sim, mixed with side-scrolling Castlevania gameplay. It’s Metroidvania-ish, where you both have conversations with people to romance, and quest around to find stuff for them or something. It’s wacky as shit, but it seems pretty decent.

Little Witch Nobeta 03/07 (Switch, PS4)
Little Witch Nobeta
So this came out on PC a while ago and the Steam page said it would come out on all platforms at the same time but it apparently didn’t I guess? Anyways, now it’s coming to other platforms. It’s still on my maybe list. I may play it one day.

Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo 03/08 (Switch, PC)
Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo
This is some horror adventure game being released by Squeenix. I know very little about this one, seems actual gameplay of this isn’t… anywhere. Might be okay, who knows.

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse 03/09 (Switch, PC, PS4, Xbone, PS5, Xbox X/S)
Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse
This is a Wii Fatal Frame game that never got localized. I have no idea if this is considered one of the good ones, but Fatal Frame is usually a pretty cool series.

Mato Anomalies 03/10 (Switch, PC, PS4, Xbone, PS5, Xbox X/S)
Mato Anomalies
This is some weird-looking JRPG thing, where you do detective work, but then you need to mind hack into people (with some… card game?) with an exorcist which is where you get into dungeons. Looks pretty cool.

Hot Wheels: Rift Rally 03/14 (PS4, PS5)
Hot Wheels: Rift Rally
It’s Mario Kart Live. Without the Mario Kart. Without the Switch. Not sure if anyone cares. This is a cool concept, but I think not having it be Mario Kart is probably purely a downgrade.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure 03/14 (Switch, PC, PS4)
The Legend of Heroes: Trails to Azure
I really wish I was into this series. There’s just so many of them, I feell like it’s impossible to jump into without possibly missing something. Where do Legacy of the Wizard and Faxanadu even fit in anymore? (just kidding, I know the Dragon Slayer sub-series aren’t really related)

Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix 03/16 (Switch, PS4, PS5)
Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix
This is a 3D Arena fighting game where you control animu girls in flying armors. It’s probably gonna be pretty meh but still somehow a bit fun.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor 03/17 (PC, PS5, Xbox X/S)
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor
This looks much like Fallen Order, except you can dual-wield lightsabers this time. Fallon Order has been the only not-shit thing to come out of Star Wars since the Disney buyout of the franchise. I enjoyed the first one, so I’m probably getting this.

Have a Nice Death 03/22 (Switch, PC)
Have a Nice Death
You play as Death, the animation looks super good, there’s lots of bosses… and I don’t really know much about it overall but it seems fun. The tags in Steam note that it’s a roguelike (so actually a roguelite since it’s not like Rogue), so that’s another one of those.

Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key 03/24 (Switch, PC, PS4, PS5)
Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & the Secret Key
I enjoyed the last 2 Ryza games, though I think I liked the first better. I would get this, but I think I’ll make my yearly Atelier game the upcoming Atelier Marie remake. Still, if you like Atelier and thicc thighs, this should be very good.

Resident Evil 4 03/24 (PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox X/S)
Resident Evil 4 remake
Hey it’s a remake of RE4! Because there just weren’t enough ways to play RE4 on every platform since the Gamecube, including the Zeebo. But this looks like it changes some things around, like making Ashley look like she’s in her 40s. It does seem like both a faithful remake, but it also seems to add stuff, or adjust things.

This is definitely the biggest release of the month, and probably one you’re excited for, and it looks great.

MLB: The Show 23 03/28 (Switch, PS4, Xbone, PS5, Xbox X/S)
MLB: The Show 23
It’s video game baseball. About as interesting as watching paint dry, generally.

SWITCH RELEASES

Record of Agarest War 03/09
Record of Agarest War

This is something I played on PS3. It was some JRPG where you had relationships between the main character and some of the girl characters, and eventually you’d make babies and continue the story with those characters, for a few generations. It was pretty okay, IIRC.

Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star 03/02
Fitness Boxing: Fist of the North Star
It’s Fitness Boxing… but with some ATATATATATATATATATATATATA action. I’m totally buying this. It replaces the usual coaches from the previous games with FotN characters, and maintains the clothes-collecting aspect, and adds moments where you have to do the patented Kenshiro pressure point stuff.

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon 03/17
Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon

This is a prequel to Bayonetta. Where you play as Bayonetta, when she’s a kid and can’t do any of the cool things from the games. Instead Cheshire seemingly auto-fights stuff and you do support spells as Bayonetta. All the footage I’ve seen of this game makes it look… really boring. I’m not gonna touch this one. Bayo 3 kinda killed the series anyways.

PC RELEASES

Nihongo Quest 03/16
Nihongo Quest

This is a JRPG where you learn Japanese. I don’t know if this will be any good, or fun, or effective at teaching Japanese… but it’s nice to have alternate ways to do it. Apparently this teaches up to JLPT N5, which I think is fairly basic Japanese understanding . Looks kinda shit visually, but eh. I wanted to highlight something a bit random, so why not this!

9 Years of Shadows 03/27
9 Years of Shadows

This is a Metroidvania that looks really good. It was meant to come out earlier but had a bit of a delay. This is on my maybe list for the month.

The Last of Us Part I 03/28Duck

the last of us sucks

One of the shittiest series in gaming, finally coming to PC. Now it can be shitty at a high framerate!
