I got the Switch 2 at launch. It’s been a few weeks. It’s been solid so far. So I figure I’ll talk about it quickly.

So I’ll talk about the console, the good, the bad, the controllers, some of the cool features of it, some of the uncool features of it, and some of the games I played, and I’ll dunk on the PS5 because why not.

Oh yeah I wanted to write about this game because it’s one of the big boys this year. So I finished it weeks ago… and I forgot to write about it. I am also writing a quick thing about Switch 2, but figured I should Doom it up first.

So Doom 2016 was fantastic. Doom Eternal gets a bit of hate but it is objectively way better than 2016 in every way. They changed the gameplay around a bit to make it about resource micromanagement while getting into a fast-paced flow-state of murder, making it a lot more interesting than 2016. I actually watched very little footage for Dark Ages because this was an obvious second 1 buy, but what I saw looked great. So I bought it and played it the second it came out (probably a bit early because you should always preorder PC games because they’re basically always discounted).

Let’s go, this will be really quick.

This is the kind of project that is not made anymore. Something like this just does not happen. And yet it did, by what I’d call the unlikeliest people (and no, I don’t mean the French).

So I thought I’d talk about this game real quick so I can pretend I still run this website. Yeah, I did say I’d post sometimes, and this is a good occasion.

Okay so I’m back, didn’t really think about how I might have to rant about this so I’m taking a break from my blogging break to talk about this.

So I’m a big Nintendo fanboy, but I also fucking hate Nintendo. I will always buy the Nintendo consoles and games, but they keep doing stupid shit that they should really know better.

Switch 2 is exactly what we have been wanting for a long time. A Switch, but stronger. And now we had the first big showcase, and boy do I have things to say about this. I will buy this shit at launch, but it has some things it really should fix.

So… let’s go I guess. I will talk about the good and the bad. Mostly the bad though. I’ll start with the good shit, because there was, indeed, much good shit. But there was much bad shit too.

I’m completely forgetting to even think about the blog recently… Well I’m gonna keep up the releases posts and try to do an update-style post at some point. I haven’t even been playing anything new (until yesterday), I’m just stuck in the cycle of Binding of Isaac and Balatro. I’m late on this one and didn’t prepare this post at all before writing it, so… yeah.

Anyways, for February 2025 I am highlighting: 8 multiplats and 1 PC game. Not a lot of games that I found worthy of being highlighted this time. There’s really just one must-get in those, though there’s a few other interesting releases.

Well I played a few things in November. Again I don’t have THAT much to say about them, but I do want to keep going with these posts that I’m always late on.

So yeah, this month I’ll be quickly talking about Mario and Luigi Brothership, Metal Slug Tactics, Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D and Space Marine 2.

Also I started Baldur’s Gate 3 at the very end of november… but I won’t talk about it until next month after I’ve played more of it.

It’s December! I’ll probably do a few posts during the month, near the end, such GotY awards that have way more relevance than Geoff’s VGAs and hype for next year. But there’s also games coming out in december which is pretty cool I guess. Some of them are even interesting.

For December 2024 I am highlighting: 11 multiplats, 3 Switch games and a PC title. I’m not getting much in here I think. One game is for sure, and there’s like 4-5 maybes. Not a huge month, but I’d say a bit better than the average december.

I actually haven’t played that much new stuff in October… I’m still just playing through Metaphor which is taking a while. I did get Card-en-ciel but haven’t started it yet. Ys X is out today but I haven’t picked it up yet. I might not have too much to talk about in my monthly post thing.

So anyway, November. Usually a month with some of the bigger releases of the year… Not this year lol! I’m highlighting: 1 Switch game and 16 multiplats. I’m for sure getting 3 games in there. Not a very big month overall.

Yeah so I played stuff in September. It was an okay month as far as quantity… despite the quality overall being… questionable. Not really too much to say for an intro, so I guess let’s just get to it.

So this month the new games I played are: Visions of Mana, Gimmick 2!, the new Famicom Detective Club, Gori, Rugrats, The Plucky Squire, UFO 50, FF16 and Echoes of Wisdom… Oh and the Playstation State of Play happened so a quick moment to talk about how bad that was.
