Overlord: Escape from Nazarick review

Overlord: Escape from Nazarick

Overlord: Escape from Nazarick

While isekai anime is this thing that people think is just bad because there’s so much of it, Overlord happens to be one that I think is a pretty good example of the genre. It does have some of the normal points some of the really bad ones have, namely that the protagonist is overly powerful, but it handles the world itself and the goal of that main character very differently, and is overall really fun.

This game is based on the light novel/anime, but it’s something of a non-canon entry. I was curious about the metroidvania aspect of it, and the kinda-weird character choice.

Let’s see if it’s good!

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands review

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands

Tiny Tina's Wonderlands

HMMMMM.

So I really disliked Borderlands 3. It’s the first Borderlands I didn’t play beyond finishing the final boss when 1 and 2 both got a lot of play from me (True Vault Hunter modes and playing different characters), and I even played through the pre-sequel more than once. Not only was Borderlands 3 pretty meh, but Gearbox is also an awful company that does shitty BS all the time and is led by a weirdo… So I figured I’d give them one last chance to impress me before never buying anything they do again… And what better last chance than yet another Borderlands game, this one headlined by the shittiest character in the series!

Well, let’s see how much this sucks!

I was pretty interested in this game when I first noticed it, for a pretty simple reason. This is made by Richard Garfield, designer of great board games like King of Tokyo, Robo Rally, Netrunner, and a little-known project called Magic: The Gathering. I figured his involvement in a card-based video game would be pretty cool. Otherwise the game looked pretty interesting, and after pre-ordering I could download the demo, which was interesting enough but I hoped the full game would go a bit deeper.

So let’s go and see if it’s good!

NieR Replicant™ ver.1.22474487139… review

Nier Replicant ver.1.22474487139...

NieR Replicant™ ver.1.22474487139...

I tried NieR back on the Xbox 360. Here in America we only got NieR Gestalt, while Japan got both Gestalt and Replicant (which seem fairly identical, minus the character being older in Gestalt… I’m sure there’s other differences). I played it for a very short amount of time and gave up pretty quick, it didn’t click with me at the time. But since then I did play NieR Automata, and that’s one I quite enjoyed.

I figured because I really liked Automata and that this was coming out, I might as well give it another chance. So I played it through and… well, here’s the review.

So let’s go and try to review this maybe. I dunno.

Neptunia Virtual Stars review

Neptunia Virtual Stars
Do you like Neptunia? Do you like Vtubers? Well boy do I have a game for you… maybe. The Neptunia series is known for its referential humor based on anime and the game industry (sometimes even being a bit funny), I guess it was only a matter of time before it jumped on the Vtuber craze. That might be a recent thing here (I have been watching Vtubers for a while but it’s only last year that I really got into it), but they have been blowing up in japan long before, so it makes sense.

Not really much to say here. Let’s just talk about this game.
